About to go with a 2019 15" MacBook Pro, tell me why I'm dumb

What do you mean by OLED promises? It’s not out yet, last I checked. As far as color gamut and viewing angles, maybe*, but for me, it’d be worth the tradeoff for a keyboard that won’t break if you sneeze the wrong way. That and better port selection. And being able to upgrade RAM and SSD capacity myself. And fix the keyboard without having to pry off the battery and remove a keyboard that’s riveted on. I’m with you on the pricing, though I’m pretty sure that’s just Lenovo bumping up the price so they can pretend to have a really steep discount during their frequent sales. Using the link I posted, I custom configured a 4K one with the i7-9750H, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage. It came out to $1873.

*I’m going for the 1080p model, as I don’t really do photo editing or anything that requires super accurate colors. It’s not something I looked too deeply into. I just remember reviews of the gen 1 saying the 4K model had a nice display. Do you have a link to where they said the color gamut’s not as good?
