ABQ City Council approves amendment to start construction on new Gateway Center soon

I live four blocks from the Lovelace hospital. My hope is that this gateway center will help the surrounding neighborhoods. I morally can't be against the gateway center, because I don't think it's right to deny people services that they need. But, I also hope that the Mayor and Pat Davis will do more to improve the area and attract new business, so it's not just an area of town with resources for people in need. I think the International District has potential to be a cool destination spot of diverse restaurants and shopping if there was more interest in cleaning it up and investing in the area. I think that begins with helping the homeless population. Anyway, I have hope that this is a step in the right direction.
