Absolute unit

You would have a tough time in the same ecology just north of the border (or I guess east if you’re in Alaska). We don’t take guns with us everywhere we go in the back country because there are so many other ways to prevent the interaction. Look up the stats on bear attacks, read about preventive measures, and bear spray. Maybe you will be less scared.

We just had a number of bear sitings in a inner city park (its a huge park with trails and you can’t hear it see the city not a standard inner city green space), and precautionary actions were taken. Nobody was walking around with guns strapped to them out of pure fear. This happens all the time and not once has there been an attack. When attacks happen here it is usually the people doing something stupid like ignoring warnings and not even trying to take precautionary measures when hiking. Hell I’ve seen grizzlies while hiking, and no humans or bears were harmed.

Precautionary is not synonymous with guns.
