Absolutely baffling to think that the Jarrell F5 was only on the ground for 5.1 miles and did that kind of damage. Just an absolute 13 minute meat grinder.

Just to be clear, as I understand it (if I am incorrect someone please let me know), it rode a gravity wave instead of an outflow boundary. The latter is more common though it is rooted in the surface, originates from a storm that just passed by, made up of colder winds and diminishes fairly rapidly after the storm has left. The former is found in winds aloft, sometimes caused by powerful storm systems (gravity wave that Jarrell storm rode was produced by an earlier MCS), visible on satellite imagery, and can last for hours after the parent storm system has passed.

The link I posted earlier explains the particulars of what happened with the Jarrell storm
