Ohhh man, story time for everyone. So I was stationed at Ft.Bragg NC and was placed on gate guard duty. It’s nothing exciting, you just scan the CAC cards/dependent cards/retirement ID cards and check civilians in another lane. Most people were cool about getting on base but we’d always, and I mean FUCKING ALWAYS, get the Dependas that would say “you’re not going to call me [enter rank] and salute me/ whatever” No. No were fucking not, and you want to know why? BC YOURE NOT ENLISTED OR AN OFFICER. Had one dependa say something along the lines of “my husband is a colonel! Address me by my rank and solute me or I’ll have you kicked out of the army. I looked her dead in the eyes and told her my name rank and who my platoon daddy was and I’d she wanted me to call him right then and there. No shit she had me call him. So I did with a smile on my face, he answered and I explained. He tells me to hard her the phone. All I could hear was screaming from his end. She ended up giving me my phone back without a word and drove off after I handed her her ID back. To all you dependas out there just know that we’re all Laughing at you and we don’t care who your husbands are or what rank they may be.
