Academic Apathy and Depression About College

Witness, ladies and gentleman, your average premed student! Gawk at their lack of patience with themselves and their need for constant validation, and their complete lack of passion for anything other than receiving easy As!

Almost every premed student I have met in my entire life has failed at becoming a doctor, because they all want to become doctors for the wrong reasons: Appeasing grumpy parents, a sense of personal superiority, or a lust for material possessions. Thus, they don't like learning and they burn out faster than a Saturn V running on carrot juice, like our dear friend here.

How can I find meaning in learning beyond just getting A’s and actually look forward to being challenged/taking classes/whatever?

If you are genuinely interested in becoming a doctor, this should not be an issue.

If you hate something, do something else.
