Accounting majors, how did you study for intermediate 1?

I took intermediate 1 about a year ago and had to completely change my approach to the course compared to my intro accounting classes. In my intro classes, I would not retain/understand any information from lectures, just crammed the day before in order to ace exams

If this sounds familiar, be prepared to make some major studying changes. If I followed the following tips (based off my personal mistakes) while taking this course I could’ve saved myself from a lot of unnecessary stress -

*READ. READ. READ - never used to actually do the recommended chapter readings for my courses, but I noticed a dramatic change once I started to read/skim chapters that would be covered prior to the lectures. Intermediate has such dense material so it is very difficult to learn/understand it for the first time in a lecture setting

*PRACTICE PROBLEMS - as many as possible, you need to regularly practice the concepts taught because because of how many seemingly minute details they have.

*HOMEWORK - better be getting 100’s on everything that you could go to office hours for... easy points

*STAY UP DO DATE - you’re gonna have to know all the ins and outs of main learning objectives. Review lectures at least once a week and go to your teacher if you have ANY questions or doubts about your knowledge. Don’t wait till a test and realize you don’t know how to do a problem if it’s not exactly formatted like the one you did in an in class assignment

Good luck! You’re gonna kill it, procrastination is a lot harder to bounce back from now so just learn small amounts each day and you’re GOLDEN
