Actor John Hurt dies from cancer aged 77

In 2014 I went on vacation to Florida. On the last day of Universal Studios we went to the Harry Potter park. It's by far the best theme park I've witnessed. They put so much detail into every inch. They have an "Ollivander's Wand Shop" where you can go shop replica wands used by a majority of the HP characters.

We went there later in the evening, when there weren't a thousand people scrambling around. Well, we waited in line for the "wand choosing experience" or whatever it was called. There were a couple kids in line so I obviously figured they were going to be chosen for the act. We step inside to a room that looks right out of the wand shop from the first movie. A man dressed up in costume comes out, dims the lights, gives an ominous introduction and actually chose me to come forward! He handed me a wand, tells me to give it a flick and just like in the movie a bunch of wand boxes come shooting out in various spots. He quickly snatches it from me and does the "No! No! Definitely not!" line.

After a couple tries he goes back, pauses and gives me that "realization" look, like he knows the next wand is the one. He hands it to me and a light shines down as well as being hit with a gust of wind. Not only was that amazing enough the same angelic music that plays during that scene in the movie came on the speakers.

I wasn't expecting anything like that and actually had to hold back tears (not afraid to admit it ;) ) from reliving a part of my favorite movie series. I was instantly brought back to the excitement, mystery and magic of those movies from what I experienced as kid. John Hurt didn't have a huge part in the movies but he had a huge part of shaping my imagination. :)
