Adam Rippon with some excellent commentary

I'm on board with everything he's saying except the reference to race.

This is not about race (although MANY things are, this is not). This is about different bodies making different calls according to different moral and ethical standards. Russia is not the same as the USA. Aside from that, there's the the timing and processing of the samples, trials vs event itself and of course, age. There are loopholes in the system and Russia has no qualms exploiting them. It's not right. Let's not even get into the corruption and bribery we know generally exists in organizations sports.

I want to highlight that KV is not a "white person" by global standards, although it seems like SR and AR and many American thinks she is. She is Tatar from Kazan and they have been (and still are) subjected to prejudice as a racial minority in Russia. I do not know a single Tatar who'd say they are white. As a side note, there are even Chinese Tatars who, you guessed it, are primarily settled in Xinjiang.
