Adam Schefter on Twitter: Saints have informed their defensive coordinator Dennis Allen that they are hiring him as their next head coach, sources tell ESPN. Once again Allen replaces Sean Payton, minus the interim title.

Well, everyone on staff seems to be bought in, they're here to build something special. Now is my local business employer about to try and build something like that? Do I think my employer has a chance at winning a Super Bowl? No? Then I'll absolutely NOT pass up the opportunity to leave for the better job. I'm just saying, if I have a chance to make history in winning a championship, especially for a historically terrible team. I'm not going to jump ship to a rival company, to arguably an equal/lesser team, a 30 year old+, ageing Vikings team who are about to be in store for a rebuild in the next 2 years. Do your job right, and the offers and opportunities will come, you don't always get a shot at a Super Bowl, not saying we're guaranteed to go there, but if you think MCDC is getting you there, do you risk leaving for, yes the better job, but also do you want to go to the division rival and watch Detroit win it all while you're at home with an 0-2 record vs your old team? Idk, I've taken promotions, I've left jobs for "better" jobs, more money, but you know what? 2 times in my short 26 years have I been more miserable at the higher paid new "promotion" so in my mind the job you choose is based on way more than the title and amount they write on the check. Fell free to downvote my clearly stupid opinion. Happiness>money and job titles, idk Aubrey Pleasant and maybe this means more to him than I know. But I'd also think that winning a Super Bowl in Detroit has to be in the back of his mind when making his decision.
