Addicted to Opiates and want to get clean

It's a state of mind. Once you're ready to quit, you quit. Have an iron will. Think about your family and friends who need you. Do it for them, do it for you. The cravings wont go away, but after a few months of being clean, they fade a bit. Even many years later, you will get the occasional craving, like a cigarette....but you know it's not in your best interest. A high is temporary, it can't be sustained....so what's the point? All you will feel is disappointment and shame the next day. Another failed attempt. Then the spiral happens..."well, I already fucked up. Might as well do some more." Or "I'll just do some every once in a while." Hey, that's how you get here to begin with.

It's up to you, but you can do it. Find something to take your mind off of it. Video games, going outside, hanging with some friends who may have grown apart from you in your recent struggle, go see your family more, get a dog. Whatever makes you naturally high. Look forward to the weekend and having a couple beers with friends as a release. Weed is great tool too, honestly. Try not to be a stoner, but you can feel a lot better about smoking weed than getting bent on pills and everything that comes with it. No one can get you through this except you. No one can let you down except you. Everything you need is inside of you.
