Why is it so addictive to buy synths?

it's more about trying stuff that really buying. If there were synth libraries where people could try on synths I don't think a lot of people would hoard anything and that vintage synths would be that expensive. People are attracted to a Jupiter 8 because it's "rare",famous and expensive, not because it's the best sounding synth on the planet (and it isn't).

I'm in Europe, a lot of people fantasized on the TB303. Except they absolutely had no idea how it worked. Behringer issued the TD3, which plenty of people bought... there are now at least 30+ ads for used TD3 in local ads, because people found out that its sequencer is horrendous. Yet it's exactly like the original sequencer...
