Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Semi-Frozen Yellow" Release Megathread 11/18/17

Alright I’m getting pretty sick of the same comments over and over so I guess I’ll cave. I know this probably won’t accomplish anything but if even a few people read this and don’t ask “what time do they release?” or “what’s a splash?” for the 102639291th time, maybe it’s worth it.

First: there are a ton of great guides on this sub, use them. There’s one right in the “guides” section of the subreddit and there are a ton more if you take a second to search. Those are way more comprehensive than this. Second: this release is supposedly extremely limited, you will almost certainly take an L (a loss). If you’re here cause you heard that yeezys resell, realize this isn’t something easy you can just walk into.

There are a couple different places these will release. A few (not many) consortium accounts (other stores that sell adidas products) will have them. If there are any stores near you that get major sneaker/streetwear releases, keep an eye on their social if they will have them. For other stores, keep an eye on solelinks/boostlinks/any of the million sites that compile lists of stores that will have them. Follow those stores on social too. Most stores will do some sort of raffle, whether it’s through their website or through Instagram. Just follow the instructions for that, not much to say there. It’s very very unlikely any of these stores will do a straight online release. I don’t want to sound mean but if one of them does do an online release, it’s highly unlikely that anybody reading this comment for info will get them. They’ll get scooped up by bots or those with far more experience. It’s equally unlikely that any stores will do a FCFS (first come first serve) in-store release.

The other major non-adidas release is through Yeezy supply. In recent 350 releases, they have only offered shipment to the US and Canada but for others, they’ve opened it up to global shipping. Nobody knows yet how it’ll work. Now for one of the most annoying questions that comes up here: nobody knows what time yeezysupply will release. One more time: nobody knows what time yeezysupply will release, its random. In the past, they’ve been anywhere from around 12:00AMPST to 9:00AMPST. However, before the shoes go live, yeezysupply will update to show a “password page”. This a mostly blank page with just a field for entering your email or something like that. (It doesn’t matter if it asks for your email or a password, its all the same) Nobody knows exactly what this page is for and nobody knows what the “password” is. Some people say its an early window for friends and family to purchase (I personally don’t really believe that), others think its probably just them taking the site down to update with the product. Be at the ready when this page goes up. Follow adidasalerts, yeezymafia, or any of the other million accounts that will tweet it (or follow the release thread here). The page will be up for about 10 minutes. During this ten minutes, refresh constantly. Your best hope is to refresh right when the shoe goes live and be redirected right to the product. Once it’s live, be as fast as possible, yeezysupply is just a race to see who checks out first, adding to cart is not a guarantee.

Another major release is through the Adidas confirmed app. Once Adidas officially announces the shoe, they’ll also update the Adidas confirmed app accordingly. This app is location based and requires pickup at certain major Adidas stores. If you’re not near one (like me), tough luck. Let’s say they announce it today (Tuesday). You’ll have about a day to confirm your interest in the release and register ahead of time for specific location(s) and size. This means nothing but is required to even have a chance. To be eligible for the release, you need to have location services enabled and be within a “dropzone”, an area around the store where they’re releasing. This will be shown on a map. In the past, the actual confirmed release has happened on Wednesdays around 4PM IIRC. All of this information is available through the app and it can’t possibly be so hard to just keep track of the times/notifications it provides. On the day of release, get ready. It should give another notification before the drop. A few minutes before the exact drop time, quit the app completely and open it again. It’ll start giving messages telling you to get ready and eventually a countdown timer. When the countdown timer ends, it’ll switch to a captcha-like question. Be as quick as possible, select the picture, and it’ll tell you to wait while it checks to see if pairs are available. If you’re very lucky, you’ll have a pair reserved on release day. You’ll have to show up to the store, and provide proof through your own phone (no screenshots) and ID that you are the same person from drop day. Don’t delete and reinstall the app, don’t logout of your account, and don’t send someone else. If you have to ask wehther something will be allowed druing the pickup, it probably won’t be. (I’ve never used the app so someone else might have better info here)

Ok the biggest release will be through the Adidas website (aka ADC). Adidas has different sites for different countries, they only ship within their country. Adidas US and EU will have the most stock(relatively); most other countries get screwed with little to no stock. The release will take place through a splash page. This is like a waiting room that constantly updates itself and will let people through the product page randomly. The splash page usually goes live around 9-10AM (CEST for EU, EST for US). Again, nobody knows the exact time so spamming that question wont help. Just keep an eye out on twitter and this thread and plenty of people will post it. When the page does go live, youll want to be on the yeezy page of Adidas (its not hard to find and if you can’t find it, youre going to struggle anyways). Refresh once to update from the preview page to the splash (it has a spinning circle). To keep it simple, the best you can do is wait on this page and hope you get lucky and sent through. If you want to use multiple devices, try to spread them out (ie wifi on laptop, lte on phone). Nobody knows exactly how it works but refreshing too much or spamming the site puts you at a risk of getting your ip banned. Nobody knows for sure if using multuiple browsers/multiple accounts/etc will do anything. Adidas can always change their procedure just ahead of release. It probably doesn’t make a big difference either way so do whatever you want, just please don’t ask about it over and over in this thread. If you somehow get let through, youre in for another battle. There will almost definitely be a lot of errors at size selection and add to cart. There’s no concrete solution here: just keep trying. Captcha will give a ton of errors, the drop down menu won’t work and there’ll be a ton of other problems. Just keep trying. At various points, it will say the size you picked is sold out. Adidas updates stock throughout the release so just keep trying. If you can add to cart, you get 10 minutes to check out before your pair is forfeited. You may be put into a checkout loop where it keeps giving you errors and sending you backwards. Just keep trying. Some will recommend using paypal, do whatever works.

One final note: if you manage to get a pair, please don’t ask silly questions about shipping. Just know that yeezysupply takes forever to ship (possibly after beluga 2.0 release) and Adidas will take a few days. Every post-release it seems like people forget how basic online shopping works and freak out when they don’t have it in hand by the following Monday. If you have a confirmation email and a charge on your bank/paypal account, youre 99% good to go. Once you get shipping confirmation, youre in the clear (unless your delivery driver steals them…) If you’re wearing the shoes and it’s two weeks after release, Adidas can not go back and cancel your order. That’s the bulk of it. In summary, we’re all probably going to take Ls. Also, nobody knows what time any of these sites release so stop asking. Even putting in a little effort goes a long way. The best way to get a pair of yeezys is to be prepared. I used to ask stupid questions during the release threads but you’ll learn along the way. And don’t forget to help out others and be nice; it’s just a pair of shoes.
