Do adopted children wish they hadn’t been adopted?

My husband and I are in our thirties and would have loved to adopt someone like you. We aren't interested in "saving anyone", just having someone join our family to enjoy our little hobby farm life. We are well off, not looking for a laborer, just want to give a kid a fun, easy childhood with lots of animals and land to explore.

But after being here on this sub a while it's just not happening. Maybe it's selfish not to want to deal with an adoptive child who hates us, but I don't want to take that risk. The idea of bringing a kid into my family who can only ever view us at best with cold indifference is just a little scary to me. This sub makes me feel like that's the average adoptive case.
