Adopted dog bit us. Now we’re paranoid.

I should add that we have had him with a trainer for the past several months and my wife has been able to take him to work most days, so he’s been getting lots of exposure to other animals and other people, and it’s definitely helped with his anxiety around Unfamiliar people and places. However, his anxiety when left alone is still very severe. We put them on some puppy Prozac for a while, but even at a very small dose it completely wiped him out. He’s very low energy to begin with, so any sort of sedative pretty much incapacitate him. We purchased a heavy duty kennel designed for dogs with anxiety since he quickly destroyed the standard kennel weird used for other dogs, and while it does keep him contained and unable to hurt himself or destroy the house, he has extreme anxiety just being near it, let alone being shut inside. We work with him trying to get him more comfortable with the kennel but it’s a very, very slow going process.
