Adoptees of Reddit, what was the experience of meeting your birth parents like? If you haven't met them, do you want to?

While I did technically meet my bio mom when I was like, 11, I really don't remember the experience. I'm 26 and haven't met her again, though she did reach out to me a few years ago.

Honestly I'm pretty apathetic towards the whole thing. I get that she was having a bad time, though I don't condone what she did that got me taken away in the first place. But, that happened 24 years ago. I really just don't care anymore. She gave birth to me, she's not my mom. The couple that raised me are my parents.

I did, however, meet my Uncle (ex-uncle? They're divorced) in a roundabout way. Turns out we work together, and have for a while. He didn't know I am his ex-wife's sister's kid, until I mentioned him knowing my brother. He used to babysit me. It's been an interesting experience.
