Adriana Chechik updates after surgery, "More fusions than expected, bones completely crushed & nerve damage to my bladder, hopefully I’ll be able to pee again in the near future."

After a spinal cord injury, especially a lower level injury like what she sustained, there’s a certain amount of time, like 1-6 months where your body functions can take time to come back. It’s basically a shock to the system. Depending on the injury (each SCI is unique) your body responds by either incontinence (leaking all the time) or inability to pee (and having to use a catheter). I think if she is able to signup right on a toilet on her own then she will know sooner than later. It’s really when you are unable to sit upright that it takes longer (cause gravity is a major part of your organs doing their thing).

If she’s able to walk again though, that bodes well. Again, because of gravity.
