Adult life seems depressing, what are some things to look forward to?

Probably depends on which stage of adult life you're referring to.

Young adult life? You are generally unattached and untethered, you can experience things and people and everything seems new and very exciting. There are usually no kids or careers tying you down.

Middle adult life? You might have the career and kids tying you down, but hopefully you've found someone to partner up with/marry who you can share things with. Also you have more money so you can probably do more things. This is also the stage of life where you don't give as many shits what people think of you, so you can be yourself.

Pre-retirement but kids are teens adult life? Still more money, and you can do WAY more because your kids aren't on your ass all the time. Hopefully the career is good enough where you can go on trips here and there and you can do the things you like to do.

Retirement age? Well yeah, of course that's amazing. Because you're retired. Hopefully you saved enough money.

Life is 100% what you make of the opportunities that come your way as well as how you handle situations that arise. Save your money, do fun things, try your best to find optimism in all situations. Just because you have to go to work and pay bills, it doesn't mean that life is going to be depressing.
