Advice - ddressing racial diversity in my story

Harry Potter was written as a child's fantasy. There is a feeling that the whole thing could have been imagined by Harry, especially the first few books. A talking hat? A roller coaster inside a bank? Distributing documents in the government view paper airplane? The way the Harry Potter books work is in a very childish fashion. The logic and the world are almost as if fabricated by a child. It's of no surprise then that the matter of race would be on the nose. To Harry Potter, a boy with little exposure, living with the Dursleys who were very close-minded, this could very well be his view of the world. And if the books are written as a fantasy for that young boy, well it all makes sense. But that's my own interpretation of the franchise.
