I think you are overreacting, it is my first semester too. I am struggling to accept that I might get A- and B+ from the classes that I am taking this semester. It is an effing disaster for Ph.D. applications. However, it has been really fun and I am working hard on the final papers. Although I usually follow my schedule in general, I admit my schedule was a mess too. Needed to go to classes every frikking day. But I also talk to my profs to get feedback on the assignments and to take extra homework to improve my skills. I do not know what to say, it is just a new environment to adjust yourself. Give it some time, in the meantime try to work hard of course.
