Advice for Reddit Fitness from an experienced Personal Trainer.

hey man, thanks for offering to provide some advice, which I will gladly accept. I've never posted for help on here before but figured seeing you're open to it, i'll give it a shot. it's gonna be LONG

my question basically boils down to - I really enjoy what I'm doing currently, so should I keep going // or is my workout programme a waste of time (or could i get injured) and do I need to change it?

Begin: Jan 01 this year - M, 26years, 6'1 / 185cm and 95 kgs /210 pounds chubster, no muscle, never worked out or been athletic (smoker). Quit smoking (still going, 4 months clean!), change diet (MFP Kilojoule tracker), and start exercising.

January is summer here, so i started the year with a random assortment of weight training during the day, followed by a 30 minute hill hike after work.

In February I found the SL programme, so since then up to today, my workout progamme has been:

Mon - OHP 5x5 (started bar, now + 17.5kg) Bench 5x5 (started bar, now + 30kg), Squat 5x5 (started bar, now +50kg), Rows 5x5 (started bar, now +25kg), Deadlift 5x5 (started bar +20, now +60kg) - and then finish with 15 minute HIIT cycle or stair climber.

Tue - accessory day - Lat pull downs, dumbell rows, face pulls, bicep curls, shrug x100, calf raise x100, Abs + 15 min cardio

Wed - same as Monday

Thu - Accessory day - Lat pull downs, tricep extension, dumbbell flys, Leg press, Abs, Shrug x 100, calf raise x 100 + 15 min cardio

Fri - Same as Mon/Wed

Sat - Accessory day - Incline dumbbell press, hammer curl, skull crusher, abs, shrugs x 100, calf raise x 100, then try for 15-30mins cardio.

Sunday - rest

As of today I'm down 11kg or 24pounds after just over 4 months. I feel great which I attribute largely to the quitting smoking and having decent lungs back. However I've been eating at deficit this whole time monitored by the MFP App so feel like I haven't made muscle gains that I maybe could have, but that hasn't been the main goal, which has been fat loss.

Now at 84.5kgs today - looking for your direction whether to keep going lifting weights while trying to lose my belly fat (i really want those visible abs) - or change programme / start eating more etc.

I guess my immediate goal for the rest of the year is to obtain visible abs. My long term goal is Brad Pitt in flight club.

Thanks for your time.
