Advice for a white male South African

This is unarguably the most pragmatic/optimal option for u/GregRowles. Actively choosing to stay in a country that oppresses you based on inalienable characteristics is imprudent: considering the well-being of your family and self shouldn't be a consequence of where you live. This of course assumes you have more interest in preserving your family then your country. If you want to play hero, consider how you would feel about the negative ramifications you're bring onto yourself by standing out. If that's worth it to you and your family, that's brave and honorable, but also native and stupid from my point of view.

But for context, this is coming from someone that cares most about his family/friends and self; cares very little about his own country, not at all about SA; and sees no pragmatic reason to risk what he most cherishes to cure ideological possession of people that mean him harm on the basis of his skin color.
