advice needed: uoft or mcgill?

  1. Toronto has a lot more things going on than Montreal tbh because it’s a much bigger city

  2. UofT attracts some of the brightest students in the world because of UofTs rankings in research (6th in the world), as a consequence you can network with the best students and professors. Since there’s more students there’s more chances to make friends and find your own people (ofc u have to make an effort). Instead of being stuck in a certain niche.

  3. While McGill does have a better bio med program UofT is a way more well-rounded university; being Top 2 nationally at pretty much every area. Plus again better research opportunities also Toronto has the 7th best hospital in the world

  4. UofT does have a lot of diversity specially since we have more students and you get to meet people from other campuses (UTM, UTSC) which also have international students

  5. French is good but if you don’t speak it will be a con bc most jobs in Quebec require you to be French

In my opinion being at UofT feels endless, so many clubs, people, the campus is huge, biggest city in Canada, whereas McGill felt smaller and less ambitious. It comes down to whether you like more of a big city vibe or a more laid back vibe. I was accepted to both and I’d pick UofT again.
