Advice on becoming a real estate agent.

How many people do you know? If you’re someone who does not have a decent network you will struggle in the beginning as your sphere of influence will be generating most if not all of your income.

Choose your brokerage carefully as you’ll be the one asking them questions about commission splits, training programs, etc. Some brokerages (KW) have become basically a modern MLM scheme and will hire anyone with a pulse and a license.

The best way to get your foot in the door is to shadow a successful agent (hopefully a mentor if your brokerage will allow that) and help them with open houses, contracts, etc until you’re familiar enough with the process to do it on your own confidently.
