Advice on getting a new hard drive?

I am also cheap but I am not cheap enough to not get an SSD. SSD actual don't wear down. They are limited to a number of read and write cycles meaning over time, you will lose overall storage capacity. Although this happens, it is very minimal. I've had an SSD for over 10 years and it's only 5% less than the original capacity. Hard drives are more prone to wear due to a physical mechanical disk spinning. Also if you ask any PC building enthusiast they will recommend even a cheap SSD. 1tb SSD are only $100 or so compared to a 1tb HDD for $60. Trust me it is worth every penny and you will notice the difference especially in the boot times. I am still getting 30 second boot time with my 10 year old SSD.
