I was in the same situation. Just moved to US and had to work in a warehouse for 3 years. I got GED done in the last year and found out that the community college near my house offered fully covered tuition for Networking/Cybersecurity AAS degree. So I quit the job, worked part time in a restaurant and put time to study. Passed A+ exams and got an job shadowing opportunity in my college's IT dept and took an unpaid internship at my professor's company. After got the AAS, I transfered to a 4 year uni, and got a $18/hr internship after the first semester doing networking installation and staging equipment. Studying in the down time and will take the CCNA exam tomorrow. I am planning to apply for NOC positions and studying for RHCSA cert before the end of this year.
It will be hard and requires a lot of studying but it is doable. If I can do it with my broken English, you can too. If you attend college, make the most out of it. Make friends with students, faculties, professors and ask for recommendations, ask for help. If they see a opportunity, they only remember the one that asked them. Also make sure you get the certs while in college, make you more marketable.
