Advice thread is too old. Need help with application.

Go in early in the week, make sure it's quiet, if the bar manager is not there ask when they'll be in and the best time to catch them when it's not busy.

When you've got the bar manager, give them the resume. Let them know you're not sure if they're hiring, and that you don't have the experience anyway, but this is something that you really want to do and a make a career out of it. Let them know that you're willing to work your ass off to learn everything they end you to in your own time, and you could probably even offer to come in one night and work for free (very unlikely they'll take that up)

Even if it's still a flat no, you'll still get remember if a place opens up within a month or two after that. And if the bar manager is a person who loves their job, they'll either find a way to hire you, or point you in the right direction.

All I know is that every place I've worked we get resumes all the time, but never from anyone who actually is looking to take the job seriously and put in some time and effort.

Also they may not give a shit, so be prepared for that, and just keep trying.

Hopefully if you get the job, you can back it up though.
