African Americans don’t count as Africans and have no claim to African culture at all.

We’re not connected at all. It’s just like a white American trying to claim they’re somehow Irish because they great great grandad was Irish.

For the last fucking time...when an American says they're English/Irish/French/Italian/German/Polish/Japanese/Chinese/Filipino/Nigerian/Ugandan/Rwandan/whatever the fuck...they're not saying that they're are a citizen of that country. They're not claiming to adhere to the culture of that country. They are simply saying that ethnically, that is what they are. Ethnically, I am half-German, half-Swahili. So whenever my heritage comes up in a conversation, I just tell people that I'm half-German, half-Swahili. I am not claiming national or cultural ties to Germany or the multiple countries the Swahili live in. I am not swearing allegiance to Germany or the multiple countries the Swahili live in.

I don't know why this is such a hard concept for non-Americans to grasp.
