After almost 2 years I finally killed someone in PvP!

Aye... sometimes we force the hands that be. Yesterday I got stuck in a 1v1...

I swung into Cyro to visit the golden vendor... since there was fighting on our side of the map figured I would join the zergs for a few minutes while waiting on some things... some time went by, figured I would do a wide circle back to the shrines and end my time in Cyro. I play a Tank Templar, and was still geared and set up for PvE, I typically play with my SO, so I only do around 2-4k DPS as I just tank for them, but I am dam near impossible to kill, so I typically don't worry about things, I even still had a silly 2H set up on my 2nd bar for some skills I had been leveling, but either way as a Tankplar CP200 guesting in the NO CP campaign I felt safe. Then I got struck...

The poison hit me in my shoulder... no fear... I launched my Guar forward and we raced away from the arrows... 3 more stuck I just couldn't escape even with banners and full speed we couldn't get away. As I was knocked off my Guar and tumbling to the ground, I look back to see my Guar him take a few last breaths before collapsing... I struggle to regain my footing and as I stand and turn a DC DK comes over the hill top...

We ended up in a cavernous draw, just large enough and secluded that I knew, no one would ever stumble across us... I pulled up my shield, and took sight of my attacker... a mid 500s DK... I know this is going to be tough. He charges in, I am on the defensive, again and again he attacks, his attacks are relentless, I can tell he is pure DPS, Im buffing my shields to 20, 40, 50k at times, and they are dropping just as fast, its a never ending rotation to keep my mana and stamina up, keeping my health & shields boosted is all I can do.

Im popping Ults every 30 seconds to give myself time to regain mana and stam, Im popping potions in between... on and on it drags on, five minutes go by, I try and make a dash to escape, once... twice... I cant escape, he taste blood and knows he is winning the war of attrition, his relentless assault is besting my sustain.

I decide after my next ult pop, I would go on the offensive at the start of the next rotation, my only hope is gathering enough distance to launch a take down and then try and turn the tables and test his defenses... it's go time, I rollback and charge in, the knockdown fails, no stun... no hesitation, he was ready... I unsheathe my great sword, its metal gleaming purple in the afternoon light, its Daedric craftsmanship priceless and perfect... with every ounce of strength left I unleash my fury, but its clear, its not having any effect, the fight will end soon.... it does... after almost eight minutes in a space no larger them a Argonian mudhut, I fell... no grace... no crowd... nothing... as I lay there, I watch my attacker... no remorse, no hesitation, no celebration, just a matter a fact pause before mounting his horse and charging off to the next battle...

I had hoped many times during the fight he would give up, but his bloodlust was strong and I think he knew I could not keep up the defense forever... and there was no help coming aid either of us, we were alone and he had the advantage of picking the fight. Kudos to him for excellent display of skill though, he kept me flustered enough I constantly made rotation mistakes, and could never really get off the defensive to do anything.

This is why open Cyro can be the best PvP in any game.
