After beating RE 2 again...

A tough one for sure. On one hand I love the aristocracy or old school nobility and wealth surrounding the umbrella corp. Spencer's mansion for example. The historical artefacts or themes used as puzzles to uncover their darkest secrets. I believe RE Zero you visit an umbrella training facility which is very reminiscent of old-timey wealth and it's wealthy boarding school like demeanour.

In RE 2 only the most politically empowered and wealthy are in on the secret. Which you piece together through memos etc. Of course all this is introduced early on during a playthrough and builds as you go forward.

Then on the other hand you finally realise the seemingly inconspicuous Police station and it's sewage system are actually secret entrances to a state of art research Laboratory which to capcoms credit is well thought out with methods of staff transportation to and from the labs and town. The whole design of the technology down in the lab is just fantastic sci-fi blending with reality.

I just love the industrialised aesthetic down there that contrasts a seemingly sleepy innocent town, a rustic police station with a technologically advanced B.O.W research facilty underneath it all.
