After Buffalo, saving the GOP means leaving the GOP I thought the Republican Party could be saved. I was wrong.

Exactly what I thought while reading. When did the Republican party have anything to offer to common folks? Not in my lifetime, and I'm 44. Trickle- down theory is, and always was, a fallacy, free markets only man "let the rich do what they want". LGBTQ people faced Republican opposition at every turn, Reagan treated AIDS patients with utter inhumanity, abortion rights have been questioned for decades, Bush started an illegal war based on lies... there have been crazies for a long time, remember prime like Michelle Bachman in 2008? Was there any Republican policy to improve health care access, reduce poverty, lower income Inequality? I don't remember any. "Free minds" means "religious freedom" which really means "you can't oppose me forcing my religion on you". Are we going to forget that "Muslim" was used as an insult to attack Obama? So much for religious freedom. That wasn't yesterday, or in 2016, that was 14 years ago already. Didn't that bother the author at the time?
