After the narrative about Jimmy Butler it’s cool to see him thrive as a #3.

you have to have handles to be able to iso from the perimeter. when Tobias gets the ball in true iso situations, he almost always goes to backing down the defender because his handles aren’t good enough to allow him to face up on solid defenders. i thought he could iso a lot too, until we got him and i actually started watching him play more. that’s just not his game.

Tobias’ efficiency is up there but if you watch him you know he’s not on Kawhi or KD’s level AT ALL as an offensive player, because he can’t get his own shot as much as those guys. he takes a ton of high efficiency corner threes and catch and shoot shots. this is why Jimmy always gets the ball in the clutch and not Tobias, even though Tobias’ shooting numbers are obviously better. Jimmy can iso, drive, and pass better. if Tobias could do those things as well, we would let him.

and again. it’s never been Tobias’ show because he’s just not skilled enough to be THE GUY on a team. he was the Clippers best player statistically but he can’t handle well enough to actually initiate offense like a lot of other perimeter stars. he’s best as a complementary guy like he is now.
