Age gap discourse shouldn't infantilize women for being under 25, it should infantilize them for being zoomers

As someone who was in a relationship with a 27 yr old when I was 19, I think it depends on how you raise your child. A friend of mine( who lives in a third world country) is the same age as me and married at 18, had a kid at 19 and seems perfectly fine lol. To be fair, her husband is only a year older than her and was raised with the prospect of supporting a wife and kids as soon as he was of age and found someone suitable. She is fine, definitely not manipulated by the patriarchy. I entered into a relationship with an older man consensually and I can’t tell you that I wasn’t manipulated at times and didn’t end up the worse for it. But I liked it at the time and knew that the guy was bad for me on some level. I chalk it up to not having a mother and not really having anyone to explain to me how date and how to approach relationships with men in a way that benefited me. That being said, some of y’all definitely hunt for young women to mistreat with impunity. Two seemingly opposing statements can be true at the same time.
