Ahead of it's time, this Ferrari was produced in 1967

But look at it from ford's perspective, they aren't trying to sell race cars or race or anything. For them it's either bragging rights or marketing. Otherwise they don't find value in it. The mustang isn't really anything in terms of racing but it has a roll in society. The f150 does not need to race. Their suvs don't. The only thing that theyd race is the GT.

They have no good reason to build race cars. The Ford gt was pretty much built to show the performance their ecoboost was capable of making. They didn't make the GT to kick ass in the name of kicking ass, they did it to promote their engine. It's not like they're making RS200 just to race or anything like that. Racing doesn't matter to them. They are trying to phase out v8s from most of their products though, which I also don't like. Outside of the mustang gt 500 they are making now, they don't really have a lot to offer for preformance, unless you want a raptor with an ecoboost. You're never going to be allowed to purchase a gt let alone get it within a year of being told you're allowed to buy one.

Honestly new cars aren't looking promising in my opinion. I don't know if we'll ever see cars like the C3 corvette ( look amazing, but you better get a new engine), or the 90s Mazda rx7 (beautiful car with amazing rotary power). Looks like the options we will be having are bulky "muscle cars" like a mustang, challenger, or camero, super cars like the Ford gt, lambo Ferrari, etc and stuff that bridges the gap like the c8 corvette, supra, etc. Although we have electric vehicles like Tesla which have great power, but huge weight from battery packs and stuff which I guess goes somewhere between bulky muscle cars and super cars.
