Is AI in halo 6's forge possible?

It would require a HUGE change in how halo's AI works. I'd need time to find the article, but there was a detailed talk by Bungie about developing Halo 2/3's AI about a decade ago.

They explained that AI had two components -basic combat behaviors like dodge and grenade that are built into the unit, and movement instructions built into the mission.

Even the basics, like advancing and taking cover, are not that basic. The specific locations for every action are/were programmed into the actual mission. An Elite in halo 3 doesn't really "understand" that a wall is cover-- he moves there because an algorithm tells him to find a spot in the closest "cover" zone. Patrol patterns and attack/defense potions are all coded into the map for each spawned unit group.

So a FORGE ai system would either have to give all these programming tools to the player, and be a nightmare to set up anything approximating the real missions, or create a simplified AI that detected what "cover" was near it and could judge attack /defense locations so it didn't just huddle up and charge in an open field (Then again, that's what canon Covies do in the books...)
