Why AI is not going to replace screenwriters

My therapist friend: Are you afraid they’ll just get an AI to do your job? Me: Are you afraid they’ll just get a chat bot to do yours?

I have no doubt AI could advance far enough to write an effective screenplay/novel, but by the time that happens, it will also be able to:

-diagnose & treat illnesses -write rousing legal arguments -analyze stock trends & make investments -formulate complex military strategies -be your therapist -do your taxes -sext you

Any job that doesn’t involve manual labor could potentially be done by an AI. Creative fields are being used as a testing ground for now because it’s easier to source raw data and it gets them more attention/funding. My guess is in a year’s time it’ll be some other industry panicking about AI and the entertainment biz will have moved on to griping about something else.
