She’s not really ‘fine’ with taking the train home. She prefers me driving her. She might take the train home if I’m properly wiped out from work but unless I am she’ll usually want me to drive her. I wouldn’t say it’s overbearing, she also prefers to be taken home by car.

I do see it as getting to spend more time with her, yeah. Then again, driving somewhere for 2-3 hours for a staycation is also ‘spending time’ and so is the 3 hour journey back, but it’s a significant cost to me when I’m topping up the 3rd tank of petrol on my way home from dropping her off after that staycation, after having gone through 2 tanks on the journey there and back.
