As a 5 ft 0 inch girl who can't swim, going to the beach for my significant others birthday would still be fun. I cannot swim, surf, and do not like to horse play in water. (Your height, weight, sex, nor race do not have anything to do with the post and my prior suggestion of compromising while in a relationship)

Making a situation about yourself when you're celebrating another person is rude and distasteful. If you cannot put aside your likes/dislikes for a few hours for another person, why are you in a relationship with them? Why would you voluntary go somewhere you don't like in the first place, and make every feel awkward about deciding to bring you with them?
