AITA for checking my blood sugar at my desk when my coworker has a severe blood phobia?

Wow is this real? NTA. I don't know if you should go to HR first or let him make an ass of himself, depends on what your HR is like and what he's like. If he's an unreasonable manipulative person, he might be stirring up shit. You don't want to look like you are the person initiating a personal conflict by complaining about him first (again depending on what your HR is like). If you do go to HR, then don't mention him at all, just verify that it is company policy that you can check your blood sugar in your office which it should be as it's a medical condition. There might be some thing like safe needle disposal or whatever, you want to make sure you are following all the rules. And don't mention him at all. It's not your job to figure out how to accommodate his phobia. That's HR's job. Since he's too unreasonable to work it out with common sense, let them come up with something. He could simply knock before entering your office and avoid looking over at you. This is what any reasonable person would do.
