AITA For Firing An Employee After His Parents Died?

YTA. And this is really hit home for me because I lost my mom suddenly last year, and I had a rough 6-8 weeks or so, really devastated, couldn't function, and then I THREW myself into my masters degree and am graduating with a 4.0. You're bf is right, you're all heartless. The sudden loss of one parent is no joke - let alone two - but what's funny to me is that given time he may have resumed his previous output as a means to cope. Being at work and having a routine and a group of people to check in every once in awhile was nice too. My heart is broken for this kid, can't believe you didn't check in with him and give him more time to redeem himself.
