AITA for saying I don't respect my sister's profession as Prostitute, but do respect my other siblings professions?

You see, the thing is it isn't OP that made the situation awkward

You're free to disagree, but I stand by my position: OP could just have easily praised his siblings in private and avoiding making his sister feel shitty, and he didn't. It's understandable since he's only 16, but hopefully as he gets older, he will understand how to better navigate these kinds of situations.

Someone secure wouldn't have reacted the way she did in any way, shape or form

Again, that's your opinion based on what you think insecurity is. And like I said in another comment, we have no idea of the background of the situation either. Maybe this is something OP has done in the past, and the sister finally reached her breaking point. Maybe she's spent her whole life feeling compared to her more successful siblings and is sick of listening to it. Who knows? But to boil it down to "she's just insecure" shows an extremely narrow view of the situation that I just can't understand or agree with.
