I agree with your roommates. It's like if you had a roommate who took daily 2 hour showers. You'd expect him to pay more of the water bill.

I wont. That's my point. I dont think its fair to require someone who uses a bit more of the shared facilities to pay extra. I believe we all pay for everything and if someone uses something (reasonably) more than it ought to balance with people who use something reasonably less. The latter group doesnt get their money back.

Now if I was spending 6 hours everyday with the windows open I would get it but its around 6 hours a week. Don't mean to argue I just wanted to clarify on that assumption you made.
