I hope she still has all her patients next year. Because I know she worries about that...

I have lost 2 people this way. If anyone around me is struggling, I worry myself sick. And I have my own struggles with depression. One of my employees doesn't know details abut knows I have ... experience (unfortunately) with this. She had a total tragedy happen to her last year. She called me, clearly in grief, and told me she couldn't work. I said to her, "Please send me a message every so often just so I know you're OK." And she said, "I understand why you're asking me this and I promise I will." And she did. I knew she had support around her (and an excellent therapist), but ... you worry. I couldn't do that job but I get where your therapist is coming from.

Any mention of this kind of stuff (I don't even like to use the word) is very upsetting for me. I've had my own moments of dark thoughts and luckily I'm in a better place (and sadly I know what it does to those who are left behind and don't want to ever do that to the people who love me). OOP is an insensitive asshole.
