AITA for not asking a doctor if I can speak?

Setting up a neb is can be distracting, especially if the conversation is serious. Also once the patient is on the neb it is loud and harder for them to hear what is being said. Also hard to respond to any questions asked. I personally would never go in and start any treatment while the provider is talking to the patient. That is the only time the patient can ask questions directly to the provider as well.

If giving the treatment unavoidable due to time constraints, I think common sense here is the way to go. Ask first and then everyone is happy

I do think the way the doc went about asking you to stop could have been better. Making colleagues look bad or unprofessional is kind of a dick move. ESH
