AITA for not getting my bf anything he's asked for for his bday?

The perfect gift to me is a fancy version of something I already needed

Obv I am OP so obv I am biased, but this was my thought exactly!! When someone can buy everythign that they need, the perfect gift is one that is a fancier version of what they need.

Clearly, my bf would not like a $20 chef knife because that's what he has, but a $150 chef knife??

Like, I would not buy a $150 chef knife for myself, but if someone gave one to me, i'd be fucking over the moon!

So, despite the downvotes you got, I'm totally with you. If my (non-existent) husband wanted fancy dog shampoo, I'd buy him some fancy-as-fuck dog shampoo that cost him $200 if that's what that man wanted.

But for my bf? A bread maker that he'd never use? Fuck that.
