AITA for not hiring a nanny for my granddaughter when my daughter is off from school?

I don't know that she's an asshole because she is struggling with a very difficult situation that could be much worse?

I don't think the situation should be that being a teen mother is awful and if it does any less than totally destroy your life and education you should never complain. All teen mothers deserve what this girl has, and it sounds very hard even if it's not as bad as it could be.

her father sounds like he has no compassion for her at all, despite the fact that she is extremely young and this seems to be the first time she's asked to do something that's not school or looking after her baby. the majority of parents come in pairs, she seems to be emotionally on her own if not financially. she's not behaved at her best here trying to do it behind his back but i imagine she's at the end of her tether.
