AITA for putting a baby in a closet for the night?

Better than a dead kid, which absolutely could have happened with what she chose to do instead but would not have happened in your scenario (cold won't kill a baby as fast as overheating or asphyxiation). Also, OP really didn't have a blanket to give the kid? OP couldn't have put the kid on the bed with a blanket and just stayed awake to monitor her? OP doesn't have a kitchen or something to put the animals in?

OP acted very dumb, emergency or no. And their sister is a negligent nightmare that no kid should have to deal with. Look, I get that we don't always act perfect in this situation, but this kid should be in foster care based solely off the description of events here.
