AITA for refusing to come home for summer because of the kids?

YTA Your mom needed help and you decided you would have nothing to do with it. You based your decision on one visit that happened when the kids were excited about what was going on. Your mother was hoping that you would give her a break I'm sure, but you are being a no show. I'm not quite understanding why you would need an appointment to go home and get your things? You live there... you're moving stuff out so, what is that about? I understand you aren't the babysitter but you could have at least talked it out with your mother before making other plans. I just feel sorry for your mom for not having anyone she can really depend on other than your dad. I'm sure she had other plans for her life too than taking care of 4 little kids.
