AITA for telling his wife that he got me pregnant, and for reporting him so he’ll lose his medical license?

I don’t understand why your conclusion is ESH. The Ph.D. is violating the trust placed in him by the public to treat the sick people. When that trust is violated by a physician the entire field bares the responsibility for that crime (more restrictive narcotics policies possibly resulting in a patient being unable to receive a pain script). Furthermore, the physician was falsifying test results which will eventually result in a patient not being diagnosed or treated properly. That physician should 100% have their license taken away immediately and be banned from practicing medicine in any capacity for the rest of his life. You’re obviously not arguing the physician should keep his license, but you are arguing that OP reporting him was somehow immoral.

The decision by OP to not report him immediately was the immoral decision, but reporting him was the moral decision regardless of the reason. I agree that the intention behind your actions is important, but at a certain point inaction is so destructive that your motives don’t matter anymore. That man should never be allowed anywhere near a patient again, and the fact that he won’t be allowed near the weakest of society far outweighs the vengeful motives behind the report.

In my eyes, OP corrected her own wrong and made sure an irresponsible man didn’t have the ability to potentially harm someone through incompetence. She’s undoubtedly NTA (her lack of an immediate report is also undoubtedly scummy behavior - if anything that would be why ESH)
