AITA for telling my brother he has nobody to blame but himself for our dad being cold to him?

exactly.

i was getting downvoted fast in another part of this post for saying exactly that. they were acting like he wanted to throw HER under the bus, and when she divorced him first he got what he deserved.

i was saying he mightve wanted to plan his exit so he could be okay, and they were adamant that he wanted her to be in the position he is now. which seems incompassionate to me. not everyone is malicious, and its not always a 'me or you' situation. sounds like wife was going to get the better end of the deal anyway so he might want to get himself in order, or maybe didnt want to at all yet, and the kid threw him under the bus. poor guy.

kid absolutely shouldve gone to dad. he didnt know if it was going to happen or not, and forced the issue. poor guy, id be upset too. he got the wrong end of the stick.
